Property Settlement refers to the legal process involving the transferring of ownership from the seller to the buyer, which is solidified by the buyer paying the balance of the sale price by a set date (known as the ‘Settlement Date’).
Conveyancing refers to the legal process of moving land or property ownership from one owner to another. This begins with the signing of contracts, progresses through settlement and ends with the registration of the new title.
Property settlements are usually completed on an agreed term of either 30, 60 or 90 days. The settlement period must be agreed upon between the seller and purchaser.
